It has been two years and counting since we began our beach cottage renovation project. Two years! A couple of months into the process we learned that we had to lift the house and, thus, began a series of changes that now total 67(!), which gives you an idea of how arduous a task renovating a home can be. The kicker is that after two years and 67 changes we are only 65% finished with the project. 

Our current issue is a financial one. There is a discrepancy between the amount of money that we think we owe the contractor and the amount that the contractor thinks we owe. So, we are at a standstill on the job until we can reach a resolution. Let this be a lesson to the renovator to keep precise accounting records and to check and double check numbers religiously! Hopefully, this will turn out to be nothing and we’ll swiftly move on to the next phase of the project. Fingers crossed!
