Beautiful Bathrooms

Written by Jaqui Lividini

Bathrooms are an important part of every home. That’s why, when it comes to bathroom renovation, do no I repeat do not cut corners on quality! It’s more than worth it to spend money on premium product the first time and not have to fix costly mistakes down the road.

We chose Kohler for all of our new fixtures because they are high quality and offer a vast selection of products. They had everything I wanted, and what I wanted was far from cookie cutter. I wanted an old-fashioned farm sink with a porcelain back, as opposed to the common uninteresting rectangle that seems to be ubiquitous these days. They had it.

For our upstairs bathroom I wanted a porcelain sink with an antique feel, but since it’s the kids’ bathroom I felt I needed new. They had a perfect solution—no problem!

I found a 100-year-old porcelain peg leg sink for the powder room and Kohler had the faucets, drain, etc. (insert plumbing speak here) to fit it!

Finally, the pièce de résistance was the vintage bathtub for our downstairs master bath. This tub was a gift to John. We found it at our favorite vintage plumbing store in Maine, Architectural Antiquities.

This enormous soaking tub—practicably suitable for swimming laps—is a real beauty and Kohler had just the right plumbing system to perfectly compliment it. Besides all the hard to find items, Kohler has the toilets, shower sprays, lavatories, etc., etc. to complete every bathroom. Renovation tip: plumbers love Kohler product, so you really can’t go wrong!
